This is my husband's ICU at SUNY Downstate. This article captures it all: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/26/nyregion/coronavirus-new-york-university-hospital.html?ref=oembed

Struggle: The state of being

Between life and death,

A quiet and somber place

Lonely and lonesome

These are the words that come to my mind when I think of a person in an ICU. It seems that covid-19 patients spend a long time in an ICU hovering between life and death as if fighting to stay in this world while the other side trying to take them away. My mind associates such a state with a hazy floral space within an ICU unit.
